It's not right to govern by ideology

History is repeating itself. The previous administration chose to ignore the facts and put ideology ahead of reality in its economic policy. Because of that, the Bush administration left us with the mess we have today. It was more important that the former administration be "true to your base" than it was to govern properly.

Now that the Democrats are in power the same thing is going on from the other side of the aisle. There is a lot in the "stimulus" package that supports ideology but little that will provide meaningful stimulation to the economy. The poorly administered bailouts, earmarks, and cash lavished on the Democrats' base is a shameful betrayal of the trust bestowed on our elected officials.
