McKenna campaign has $5,400 in donations
Campaign finance reports filed with the state indicate Batavia mayoral candidate Britta McKenna has received more than $5,400 in contributions.
Of those, the largest chunk was a $4,700 in-kind donation of design services for her campaign Web site, britta4batavia.org. The donation was made by Hans Kaiser of 353 N. Jefferson St., Batavia, a self-employed graphic artist and Web site designer.
The rest was monetary donations; the amounts were less than $500, so state law does not require specifying who they came from.
The form also shows she began the reporting period with $907 in her campaign account. The period began Feb. 7. And according to her D-1 Statement of Organization, she has designated the Batavia Parks Foundation as the recipient of any leftover money after the campaign. Candidates are required to either return contributions to donors, transfer them to another political committee or distribute them to a charity.
The information is from her D2 Pre-Election Report, filed electronically March 16. The reports were due Monday for candidates who have raised or spent more than $3,000 in the last 12 months. They may be filed electronically, by fax or on paper.
McKenna is running against Alderman Alan Wolff and Mayor Jeff Schielke. There were no reports for their campaigns, as of Monday afternoon, on the Illinois State Board of Elections Web site, state.elections.il.us.
