Professor to be remembered
Aurora University will hold a gathering to remember Sheldon Stahl, a former Aurora resident and faculty member, who died March 5 in Kansas City. The public is invited to a memorial at noon Wednesday in Lowry Chapel in Eckhart Hall, 347 S. Gladstone Ave., Aurora. Stahl served in the university's Dunham School of Business from 1993 to 2003 as professor of business and economics.
Red Gate closure
The westbound lane on Red Gate Road, from Myles Road to Longview Drive in St. Charles, will be closed for two weeks beginning Thursday for utility work, in preparation for widening the intersection of Red Gate and Randall roads in May. Help Fabyan Villa
The Fabyan Villa Museum and Japanese Garden in Geneva needs volunteers to lead tours and assist with research, private tours and special events. Prior experience is not necessary. Dental services expanded
The Visiting Nurse Association of Fox Valley has received $15,000 through the Tom's of Maine annual Dental Health for All initiative. The program is funded through of portion of January sales of all Tom's of Maine products. The VNAFV clinic serves nearly 800 patients, of which about 85 percent are below the federal poverty level. The funding will help purchase equipment, hiring staff or updating facilities in order to expand dental services at the clinic. Call (630) 978-2532.
