Outgoing trustee won't back Stone

During the current Buffalo Grove Village Board campaign, candidate Lisa Stone approached all of the sitting trustees asking for their support, including myself. I asked what qualifications she had that would justify my support.

In response to this (I thought) reasonable inquiry, Ms. Stone had little to offer other than her involvement in the long past issue of aggressive dogs and the need for their regulation within the village. This was all she could point to as it related to civic involvement in her unending diatribe about vicious dogs and their need to be done away with in society.

I'm sorry to disappoint Ms. Stone, but in reality, involvement in the village means more than one time and one issue. To her dismay, I would not and could not support her.

Fortunately for our residents, there are more qualified candidates running for office in the upcoming election. Jeffrey Braiman brings proven, balanced leadership with years of experience on the board. Joanne Johnson has been a leader on her church board, school district PTO and the village's 50th anniversary committee.

Leadership is not about signs and scaring people, it's about being open minded and caring about the entire village, not singular personal issues. Do the right thing on April 7th, vote for experience and people who have proven their dedication through action not promises.
