Mulder is a proven candidate of change
Mayor Mulder's opponent is touting he's the candidate of change, but I think he's a "Johnny Come Lately." He is throwing out a lot of ideas that are already being done. I would think that someone who is truly involved in the community would know this. Change for the sake of change is not what we need during these trying economic times. We need a proven record of Change.
When Mayor Mulder came into office I was heavily involved in the Chamber of Commerce, and it is fair to say this was a community divided along many fronts.
Mulder has done an excellent job bringing these factions together. Today we have a community that's united. The Chamber and the village are working together to attract and retain businesses, such as the Rohrman Auto Mall on Dundee Road. That business will bring Nissan, Chrysler and Lexis dealers to our village, not to mention the expanding Arlington Hts Ford dealership.
Auto dealers have to be large to compete in today's marketplace. That's why we've lost some of the smaller family-owned dealerships in town, and with them important sales tax revenues. The addition of the Rohrman family of dealership to the already strong dealers on Dundee Road can provide the boost we need.
Mayor Mulder is a proven candidate of change. She's shown us that for the past 16 years. I plan to vote for her on April 7.
