Arlington Hts. board still unresponsive

I sympathize with Michael Sidor, the physically handicapped Arlington Heights resident he is trying to help, and anyone else who has ever sent a letter to the mayor or any of the village trustees. After reading Sheila Ahern's March 15 article, "Letter sparks debate," I was struck by how little things have changed since my ill-fated attempt to correspond with the mayor and the village trustees way back on June 20, 1998.

Although some of the people in these posts may be different now, it appears they are the same. Here is an excerpt from my letter to Fencepost printed almost 11 years ago:

"The new Kensington Road is several inches lower than the original. This makes the grading of the wheelchair ramps illegal (too steep). To bring these ramps into compliance will take up to 48 feet of grading per ramp ... Don't bother writing to the mayor or the village board members. I did this ... and not one of them had the decency to reply."
