Man struck by car after falling onto expressway

Illinois State Police say a man was fatally struck by a vehicle after falling from an overpass on an expressway just west of downtown Chicago.

Officers say the man fell from the Hubbard Street overpass onto the Kennedy Expressway shortly before 1 a.m. Monday.

Lanes on Interstate Highway 90/94 were blocked off for about an hour after the accident.

Authorities say the unidentified man was dead on the scene and his body was taken to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
