Obama is now legislating morality

Froma Harrop's March 4 column totally misrepresented George Bush's policies on stem cell research, implying that he banned all such research. Totally untrue. Had she done a little research on the subject, simply Googling "stem cell research" or checking the DoNoHarm Web site, she would have found a world of active and successful stem cell research options that don't involve embryonic stem cells. Is she that ignorant or is she intentionally misleading your readers? On the left side of that same page was a wonderful column by Cal Thomas challenging President Obama's intent to rescind President Bush's policy of allowing health care professionals to follow their consciences when asked to perform or participate in abortions. President Obama is now legislating faith and morals. In one of his first speeches as president, Mr. Obama stated that there is no God who justifies the taking of innocent life. Since then, he's rescinded President Bush's legislation preventing the spending of taxpayer dollars for abortions in other countries; he's rescinding President Bush's legislation allowing health care professionals to follow their consciences in matters of morality, and now he's rescinding President Bush's legislation preventing the use of taxpayer dollars for embryonic stem cell research. He's loaded his administration with "pro-choice" people, yet he's removing moral choice from the health care industry and from tax payers. His actions speak much louder than his words. He's saying we can choose to abort a child, but we can't choose to refuse. Assisted suicide and euthanasia will be the next "pro-choice" issues. If President Obama continues along this path we will have the most immoral administration in the history of our country.
