Community to welcome Dundee-Crown Chargers home

The Dundee-Crown boys basketball team will be welcomed home Sunday by a parade through the villages of Sleepy Hollow, West Dundee, East Dundee, Carpentersville and Algonquin, accompanied by police and fire units from each municipality.

According to athletic director Dick Storm, some police and fire departments will stay with the fourth-place Chargers for the entire route, while others will simply join in when the parade runs through their municipality.

Sleepy Hollow will pick up the Chargers at the intersection of Sleepy Hollow Road and Illinois 72 at 2 p.m.

The route will then take the team east on 72 to Route 25, then north on 25 to Algonquin Road, west on Algonquin to Route 31, south on 31 to Main Street in Carpentersville (Huntley Road), past Carpentersville Park and back to the high school.
