Experience is best choice in Volo trustee race

Four trustee candidates are seeking election to three board seats in Volo. Incumbents LeRoy Wegener and Carol Porter have served the board well and will continue to do so if re-elected. Wegener, a lifelong resident of Volo, brings critical knowledge of the village's history. Porter's experience on the plan commission and attention to detail makes her a valuable asset. Stephen Henley, who current serves on the plan commission, is endorsed for the third seat. In addition to his time as a plan commissioner, Henley was a trustee in Vernon Hills for nine years. He's also experienced in dealing with developers, which the district will need to beef up its commercial base. Newcomer Chrissi Steffani-Wardlow is smart and her attendance of plan commission meetings is impressive. With more experience, she'd make a fine addition to the board.
