D'Astice gets the nod for 6th Ward in Rolling Meadows
In past elections, we've endorsed John D'Astice in Rolling Meadows 6th Ward, and when he stepped down due to term limits, we endorsed the incumbent Kathleen Kwandras.
This time around, we are more in tune with D'Astice's ideas on how the city can work to contain costs, a key issue given that the city is running a big deficit.
We also were disappointed in Kwandras' unwillingness to make any comment on last year's police barricades at the 12 Oaks apartment complex due to pending litigation.
Both candidates support outsourcing the police dispatch center, a move we feel is essential to hold down taxes.
D'Astice is endorsed.
