St. Charles man guilty of child porn charge
A 21-year-old St. Charles man accused of trading pornographic images of "very young" children over the Internet pleaded guilty Friday to a lesser charge.
Scott J. Nuxoll, of the 200 block of North Fifth Avenue, admitted to attempted dissemination of child pornography and was sentenced to 30 months of probation and 180 days in jail. The plea bargain was accepted by Kane County Judge Timothy Q. Sheldon.
Nuxoll was charged with multiple counts of child pornography possession with intent to disseminate last March after the Illinois attorney general's High Tech Crimes Unit tracked pornography trading to his home computer. In May, three additional counts were added.
Police have said forensic investigators initially uncovered just three pornography images of "very young" children but found more as the investigation continued.
As a result of his guilty plea, Nuxoll must register as a sex offender and pay court costs and fines totaling $1,830. It was unclear if he has already served jail time.
