Garden calendar: Spring flower show at Knupper Nursery
Garden expo
• Knupper Nursery hosts more than 30 exhibitors for a Spring Flower Show at 1801 N. Rand Road, Palatine. Product demonstrations and free seminars run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 28.

• The Illinois Orchid Society Spring Show and Sale, will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 22.
• A "Spring Break Camp" on gardening and nature is from Monday through Friday, March 23-27, for ages 5 to 7 and for ages 8 to 11. Cost is $180 per child.
• The Ikenobo Ikebana Society Show features exhibits of traditional Japanese flower arranging from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29.
• The Malott Japanese Garden Spring Weekend features activities for families to learn about Japanese arts and culture from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29.
• The Northshore Iris & Daylily Society presents a lecture on flower arranging at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 29.
• The Midwest Fruit Explorers has a hands-on workshop on fruit tree grafting from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 29. Cost is approximately $4 to purchase a root stock.
