Winfrey offers DeGeneres spot on magazine cover

The same month Oprah Winfrey appeared on the cover of "O'' magazine with first lady Michelle Obama, she's offered to share the spot with fellow talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

Winfrey surprised DeGeneres with a video telephone call on the Friday episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show." On the call, Winfrey told a shocked DeGeneres that she was "calling to officially invite you on the cover of 'O.'" DeGeneres had been mounting a campaign for the spot on her own show, "Ellen."

DeGeneres responded by sitting on the edge of her seat and told Winfrey, "I can't believe you're serious. I'm freaking out right now."

Before the appearance with Obama in the March issue, the media mogul had gone solo on the "O'' magazine cover for nine years.
