Prairie Conservancy meets:
The Liberty Prairie Conservancy will hold its annual meeting from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 at the Independence Grove Forest Preserve learning center in Libertyville. The evening includes a wine and cheese reception, desserts and the opening of an exhibit by artist Suzanne Massion. Featured guest Dr. Curt Meine will speak. Tickets are $10, but free for members. The Liberty Prairie Conservancy is a nonprofit organization that preserves wildlife habitat, farmland and other open space throughout Lake County.
Improv audition:
Improv Playhouse Young Actors Workshop is auditioning for male and female roles in their upcoming production of Louisa May Alcott's classic novel "Little Women" from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 22. "Little Women" is about a family of women in Civil War-era New England. The focus is on the March sisters, four young girls raised by their mother. The story follows their struggles and illustrates how the family connection remains strong in the face of tragedies large and small. Audition packets and portions of the script can be picked up at the Improv Playhouse Lake Street Studio, 116 W. Lake St., Libertyville, where auditions will be held. Book sale at library:
The Friends of the Fremont Public Library group will hold a used book sale on April 11. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the library, 1170 N. Midlothian Road. Many types of books will be for sale.
Fill Easter baskets for Open Arms Mission:
Open Arms Mission Food Pantry is seeking donations for Easter baskets to be given to needy children and senior citizens. OAM is hoping to fill 2,000 baskets during the annual event.
