Reba stops at Sears Centre
Now that her TV show is long gone, Reba McEntire can get back to music, where she's always struck a remarkably relaxed and unaffected stance as a charming country chanteuse. She kicks off a relatively busy week at the Sears Centre with a benefit performance for Maine West High School wrestling coach Richard Carlini.
Red Steagall opens for Reba McEntire at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Sears Centre Arena, 5333 Prairie Stone Parkway, Hoffman Estates. Tickets are $62 to $202, available at the box office at (847) 649-2222 or searscentre.com, and through Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212 or ticketmaster.com.
Throw 'em a Redbone
It's been a while since Leon Redbone was a featured music performer on "Saturday Night Live" - those were the days, both for Redbone and the variety show - but he's still out there reviving classic Depression-era tunes, and Saturday he comes to Schaumburg for a "No Depression Benefit" for the Prairie Center for the Arts Foundation. The John Barleycorn restaurants provide the food at a reception a half-hour before showtime.
Leon Redbone performs at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Ct., Schaumburg. Tickets are $30, available at (847) 895-3600 or prairiecenter.org.
Eagles have landed
Still cashing in on their "Long Road out of Eden" reunion album and tour, the Eagles land at the Sears Centre next week, and the ticket prices show it's a benefit mostly for them.
The Eagles play at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Sears Centre Arena, 5333 Prairie Stone Parkway, Hoffman Estates. Tickets are $71 to $216, available at the box office at (847) 649-2222 or searscentre.com, and through Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212 or ticketmaster.com.
