GOP whining rings hollow, indeed

Given that the Republicans, who wrecked our economy and racked up a record budget deficit, have no useful ideas on how to fix the mess they've made, it's no surprise to see them resorting to slash-and-burn politics yet again. But this time around, their cries of class warfare in protest of President Obama's fiscal policies ring hollow. The whole thing is oddly akin to parents (the Democrats) coming home to find that their adolescents (the Republicans) have thrown a party for their wealthy buddies, trashing the house and maxing out the credit cards. Not surprisingly, the parents have no choice but to spend big money to clean up the mess. The adolescents, predictably, seem oblivious to the catastrophe they've created. They're angry about getting grounded indefinitely (losing political power) over their gross irresponsibility, and they're crying class warfare because the parents are garnishing their allowance (letting George W. Bush's tax cuts for the wealthiest few expire) to help pay for the repairs. The Republican whining rings hollow, indeed. They have trashed our house, and they richly deserve to be grounded until they can learn how to behave responsibly, something we haven't seen from the GOP since the Eisenhower administration.
