Yard waste pickup to resume

Aurora's 2009 weekly yard waste and brush collection program begins April 6. Between April 6 and 17, the city contractor will collect properly bagged yard waste on residents' normal garbage collection days without requiring a waste sticker. After April 17, residents must attach a waste sticker to bagged yard waste that includes grass clippings, twigs and garden debris. The waste should be placed in a 30-gallon Kraft paper bag and not exceed 50 pounds. Yard waste bags and stickers are available at a number of grocery, hardware and convenience stores; for a complete list, see www.aurora-il.org and go to quick links/garbage pickup. Residents also may place unbundled brush at the curb for collection with a sticker from April 6 to the first Friday in November. For details, call (630) 264-4636.
