Schueppert the cool head village needs

I am honored to endorse George Schueppert for the position of village president of Barrington Hills. He has worked tirelessly in the interest of our entire village since 2000, not just the McHenry County residents who vote in the 16th Congressional District.

Though I've only known George for a short time in my 18 years in the village, I've known his opponent and similar politicians for too long now. George is extremely diplomatic when it comes to working with residents, fellow trustees and village staff. All voices and opinions are welcome with him with no reservations or agenda.

As an active and trustworthy elected volunteer, George has supported our village in many ways. His experience, common sense and approachability when difficult issues need to be addressed are applied open-mindedly when looking for solutions. His first instinct is to engage people in productive conversation, not jump to retain legal counsel at taxpayers' expense when differences arise.

Finally, like many I was taken aback when I read Bob Abboud's message in our recent village newsletter; "decision by the STB (CN) is an abject failure of leadership by Congressman Manzullo, Congresswoman Bean, Senator Durbin, and the other congressmen whose districts run along the line."

This is not the first time I've been embarrassed for our village in the last four years, but I'd prefer it to be the last.

Please join me in supporting George Schueppert as well as Ken Bosworth, Pam Cools and Bill Hannay on April 7.
