Johnson the right choice for BG board

We have lived in Buffalo Grove for 20+ years, and know that the village's national reputation as one of the best places to live, work and raise a family is due in large part to our village board. On April 7, we have the opportunity to vote for three people to sit on the village board, and we wholeheartedly recommend Joanne Johnson for one of those positions.

Joanne has been a homeowner in the village for 21 years, and we have observed her passion in volunteering throughout the community. She has served on the executive board of the District 102 PTO, helping to maintain high quality educational opportunities for our children. She has been a member of the executive council of Hope Lutheran Church, working to improve the spiritual life of the community.

Most recently, Joanne has provided invaluable help to the village's 50th Anniversary Committee by creating and editing the "History of Buffalo Grove" book that was sent to all of the residences in the village. In addition to all of this service to the Buffalo Grove community, she has been a public relations executive for a large local hospital, managing a large staff and a multimillion dollar budget.

Joanne believes that our trustees have done a great job managing the village and wants to maximize these strategies; particularly in the difficult economic time we are experiencing.

She believes that we should continue to be fiscally responsible, minimizing expenses and maximizing diverse revenue sources. She supports the extension of Route 53 and the transfer of freight trains from the Canadian National tracks, to improve transportation in the Buffalo Grove area.

Joanne Johnson is uniquely qualified to serve the people of Buffalo Grove, and deserves your vote on April 7th.
