Bormann will keep Bartlett taxes low
I am very concerned about the upcoming election for village president of Bartlett.
Given our current state of the economy at all levels - local, state and federal - I believe that it is prudent for all voters to carefully consider the candidates for village president. Local government is what touches each of us on a daily basis, and we need to elect somebody who has experience in village government, knows the importance of a $50 million-plus balanced budget and understands fiscal responsibility for all of Bartlett.
On April 7 I will vote for Sherry Bormann. Sherry is a thoughtful, nonpolitical public official and has lots of common sense. Sherry has been a trustee for six years and has the experience and leadership skills to become our next village president.
She will be sure to keep our village moving forward in a positive fashion and is qualified to address any difficult issue the village may face.
A few examples of Sherry's leadership and love for this community are:
• Sherry opposed and continues to fight the CN purchase of the EJ&E Railroad in hopes of keeping train traffic down through the village.
• Sherry thoughtfully considers all the issues before the village board in order to maintain the small time charm and character of our town (she has been a resident 31 years) while promoting new business growth to keep taxes low.
• Sherry supports a better education system for all children in U-46 and she has even taken steps to advance smaller school districts and/or community-based schools (she also served on the School Advisory Committee).
• Sherry has consistently supported NO increase to the village's property tax.
In these difficult times, let's not forget those who have balanced the budget and has served in a fiscally conservative manner on the village board. When it comes to village president, we have to look at experience and past record. Without a doubt, Sherry Bormann has what it takes to be our village president!
Please carefully consider the accomplishments and record of Sherry Bormann and vote for her on April 7.
