1 dead, 1 wounded in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD -- Springfield police say one man was shot to death during an early morning robbery at his home after two gunmen brought a second victim to the residence at gunpoint.

Sangamon County Coroner Susan Boone says Tyrone Harris was pronounced dead at St. John's Hospital early Sunday morning.

The other victim of the robbery was shot through the shoulder. He, too, was taken to St. John's, where he was treated and released.

Deputy Springfield Police Chief Clay Dowis says no arrests had been made as of Sunday night.

Court records indicate Harris had a February 2008 conviction for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. He was sentenced to three years in prison and given credit for time served in jail awaiting resolution of the case.
