Where was game day story on Wildcats?

The Herald, like other newspapers, ordinarily gives us the lowdown about important upcoming games of our Chicago and Northwest suburban area sports teams.

What happened today? I couldn't believe my eyes! Today, in a few hours, one of our Northwest area teams, the Wheeling Wildcats girls basketball team, will be one of only four teams playing for the state championship downstate. I looked forward to what kind of an interesting story you'd have for us on this morning's back page of the Sports Section.

What did I find? ZERO! Not a word on that key page, NOR ON ANY PAGES IN THE ENTIRE SPORTS SECTION. If you will check out your primary competition, they did it exactly right. Shame on you.
