Man falls to his death from downtown bridge
A Wisconsin man has died after a fall from a bridge in downtown Chicago. Authorities say 44-year-old Brian D. Glynn, of Janesville, Wis., fell to the concrete landing at North Columbus Drive and East North Water Street, on the banks of the Chicago River, late Saturday afternoon.
Chicago Police News Affairs Officer JoAnn Taylor says Glynn was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Cook County medical examiner's office said the fall apparently was accidental.
The site of the accident was several blocks from the end of Chicago's annual St. Patrick's Day parade.
