Man charged in Christmas Eve death of 1-year-old
A man from Chicago's South Side now faces first-degree murder charges in the death of a 1-year-old girl on Christmas Eve.
According to court records, 28-year-old Henry Miles was ordered held without bail Friday in Cook County Criminal Court in the killing of Promise Hodges.
Police received a call Dec. 24 about a child hurt in an apartment where both Promise and Miles appear to have been living. The 1-year-old was found unresponsive, taken to Comer Children's Hospital and pronounced dead.
The Cook County medical examiner's office determined the girl died of multiple injuries caused by abuse, including blunt trauma.
Miles had been in state custody since soon after Promise's killing.
