Talk on Spring floral arrangements set at Inverness garden club

Garden expo

• The Belgard Chicago Flower & Garden Show returns for its 15th annual outing with the theme of "Our World in Bloom" at Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand Ave., Chicago. Today is the show's final day, running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Leading landscape and design firms are featured, as are expert from the Morton Arboretum, Chicago Botanic Garden and more visitors. Admission is $12-$14; children admitted for $5 every day. Parking is $15 for the day.

Green thumb club

• The Garden Club of Inverness hosts Glenn Egeland of Barrington Flower Shop for a lecture on "Spring Floral Arrangements" at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 19, at All Saints Lutheran Church, 630 S. Quentin Road, Palatine. Call (847) 348-8994 for more information.

Garden lectures

• Knupper Nursery's landscape designer hosts 55-minute office design consultations on spring planting for your home from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, at 1801 N. Rand Road, Palatine. Cost is $85 and due at time of registration.

• The Northern Illinois Gesneriad Society Show and Sale is from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 15.

• The Illinois Orchid Society Spring Show and Sale, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 21, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 22.

• A "Spring Break Camp" on gardening and nature is from Monday, March 23, through Friday, March 27, for ages 5 to 7 and for ages 8 to 11. Cost is $180 per child.
