Could this be GOP helping GOP?
The Jan. 14 minutes from the Addison Township meeting shows Resolution TR-2009-01 approving a lease agreement for office space for Republican State Rep. Dennis Reboletti. The lease provides for 3,199 square feet of office space for Mr. Reboletti for $500 per month, or $6,000 per year. This includes all utilities. That comes out to approximately $1.50 per square foot. The Republican officials of Addison Township need to show the taxpayers how they arrived at that number. Did they attempt to lease to someone else? Did they advertise the vacant space? What is the going rate for vacant office space? Assuming vacant office space in Addison is going for approximately $11 a square foot on an annual basis, not an unreasonable number, this would come out to $35,189 of rent for the year, or $2,932 per month. This is what we can expect under the leadership of Kathryn Cermak-Durante, wife of Addison Republican Chairman Pat Durante. This couldn't possibly be Republicans helping Republicans at the expense of the taxpayers, could it? Help me out here, Pat. We know you are the spokesman for township government.
