Write-in candidate drops out of Antioch mayoral race

A mayoral candidate in Antioch has withdrawn from contention in the April 7 race, officials confirmed today.

Kris Murphy, who had been running as a write-in candidate, withdrew Wednesday, the Lake County clerk's office said. Murphy could not be reached for comment.

The move leaves three candidates in the race for a 4-year term: trustee Bob Caufield, trustee Larry Hanson and Antioch Community High School student Erik Peters. Peters is a write-in candidate and will not appear on the ballot.

Current Mayor Dorothy Larson is not seeking re-election.
