Dismembered body found in Oak Park alley identified
Authorities in Oak Park have identified the dismembered body found in bags in an alley Wednesday earlier this week.
Oak Park police have identified the body as that of 18-year-old Rafael Ramirez of Chicago. Authorities said Thursday he was identified by various body markings.
Oak Park Police Chief Ricky C. Tanksley said investigators believe the victim was killed in another location and the body left in Oak Park. Tanksley said information gathered so far indicate the murder was gang related, and may have involved drugs.
Harriet Hawkins says she noticed four strange bags while pulling her car out of her garage Wednesday morning. Her husband, 60-year-old Warren Udelson, says he went outside to look and found a brown sock with what looked like a foot inside.
