Church shooting suspect out of hospital

ST. LOUIS -- The man accused of killing a southwestern Illinois pastor has been released from the hospital and is now in jail.

Terry Sedlacek was released from Saint Louis University Hospital Thursday night. He had been at the facility since Sunday, when he allegedly walked into First Baptist Church in Maryville. and fatally shot the Rev. Fred Winters.

Authorities say Sedlacek also had a knife and he was injured with it when two church members subdued him.

Illinois State Police Lt. Scott Compton says after Sedlacek was released from the hospital Thursday, he taken to the St. Louis city jail. Compton says Sedlacek could be transferred to Madison County, as early as Friday.
