Save Lake Zurich by voting for change
It appears the April 7 election will be about the downtown revitalization which former Mayor Krischke, Mayor Tolomei and their supportive trustees have fouled up to the tune of about $32 million in debt. I ask you Lake Zurich residents, "Do you want more of the same or do you want a 'change'?"
What we need now is honesty, integrity and the ability to listen to all residents and not just the developer. During the campaign two years ago, Tolomei stated, "I was never for eminent domain" (meaning condemning good, honest, hardworking Lake Zurich people's property and taking it away). However, he voted for the TIF, supported eminent domain, voted to condemn property (starting with Dave's Gas Station) and sat idly by while one after another person's house or business was taken away. Just look at the vacant property in our downtown that we taxpayers are paying the taxes on.
It was stated that the people who owned the property did not live there, which is wrong. Some people did live in the property the village took.
It was stated that all they wanted was money. True, but only after they hired a lawyer to try and save their property and found out it was useless. >
Let's vote for a change by electing Trustee Suzanne Branding for Mayor, Jeff Halen, Jonathan Sprawka and Rich Sustich for Trustees and Wende Dau for Clerk.
Look at their Web site carelakezurich.org. It's time the residents' voices are heard.
