Dist. 158 aid fix advances
A bill that would fix an error costing Huntley Unit District 158 about $2 million in lost state aid each year passed an Illinois Senate committee Wednesday. The Senate's revenue committee backed the bill, which would enable the district to be reimbursed for the lost state aid and fix the issue for future years. The bill, introduced by state Senator Pam Althoff, could come before the full Senate next week. "We felt it was the easier of the two chambers to get it through," Dist. 158 School Board Vice President Tony Quagliano said. "It's a pretty daunting task to get it through the House."
