Barrington

• Burglars stole a radar detector, wallet, money, checkbook, and two sets of keys out of an unlocked 2004 Toyota minivan at a home on the 27900 block of West Flynn Creek Drive overnight Feb. 27-28. Value was estimated at $235.

Buffalo Grove

• Thieves stole two sets of golf clubs and two golf bags out of a garage at a home on the 2500 block of Apple Hill Court North between 11 p.m. and midnight March 2. Loss was estimated at $4,500.

• A burglar forced a sliding patio door off its track at a home on the 600 block of Caren Drive between 9 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. March 4 but did not get inside. Damage was estimated at $150.

Des Plaines

• Burglars stole a carpet cleaning machine valued at $250 and a carpet drying machine out of a 1998 Dodge Durango at a mobile home on the 800 block of East Oakton Street between 7 p.m. March 3 and 7 a.m. March 4. The victim found the drying machine on a nearby lot.

• Vandals put four chip marks into the windshield on a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder in a condominium lot on the 400 block of South Western Avenue between 9 p.m. March 3 and 8 a.m. March 4. Damage was estimated at $350.

• Two male roommates stole two video-game systems, 10 video games, three DVDs and a dish DVR as they moved out of a townhouse on the 1300 block of Fargo Avenue between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. Feb. 27. Value was estimated at $700.

• Burglars broke into a 1992 Honda Prelude in a lot on the 400 block of Third Avenue between 10 p.m. March 2 and 6:30 a.m. March 3 and stole the in-dash radio/cassette player valued at $250.

• Brian J. Kalvelage, 20, of the 400 block of West Florian Drive, Des Plaines, was arrested around 5 p.m. March 2 after a traffic stop at Marshall and Florian drives and charged with possession of marijuana. His court date is April 2.

• Vandals wrote gang graffiti on an exterior condominium wall on the 1800 block of Pine Court between midnight and 8 a.m. March 1.

Long Grove

• Vandals broke a gate at a subdivision on Teal and Oakwood Feb. 22. Damage was estimated at $500.

Wheeling

• Shannon M. Heidkamp, 24, of the 200 block of North Williams Drive, Palatine, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. March 2 on Hintz Road east of Elmhurst Road and charged with possession of marijuana and traffic violations. Her court date is March 30.

• Gerald J. Kelly, 51, of the 20600 block of North Elizabeth Avenue, Prairie View, was arrested March 2 at the police station, 255 W. Dundee Road, and charged with criminal damage to property and reckless conduct. Reports said witnesses saw Kelly ram the rear bumper of a 1999 Pontiac sedan three times with his 1999 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck on McHenry Road at Lexington Drive around 4:05 p.m. One witness followed Kelly's truck and recorded the license plate number after the victim turned onto Lexington to get out of the truck's way.
