Sun City clubs

Cribbage: On March 4, Dave Carey won with a score of 476 followed by Pete Moseler with a 471. Individual high hands were played by: 24 (Harry Krewer, Jim Pfotenhauer, Chuck Zucker); and 20 (Terry Burkhardt, Bill Lenz, Bill Macomber, Susan Sennot, Ralph Wehnes). There were 10 skunks. They welcomed two new members: Dave Carey and Harry Krewer.

Wednesday contract bridge: Results from March 4 are: Bill Macomber 5,300; Irene Crawford 5,190; Candy Goldfarb 4,290; Geri Kaiser 4,000; Betty Reffke 3,970; Bill Fisher 3,710; and Tom Merle 3,620.

Tuesday evening contract bridge (pairs): On March 3, results were: Ann Durgin and Mary Ann Harju, 4,530; Ann Dlugos and Jan Koerner, 3,950; Betty and Bob Zimmerman, 3,850; Jan Zimmerman and Bill Macomber, 3,625; and Mary Belcher and Peggy Rizio, 3,410.

Monday Duplicate Bridge: The results for March 2 are: June Carlson and Joan Iwinski; Ardythe Edwards and Arvind Shah; Ann Durgin and Mary Ann Harju; and Ann and Pat Danna.

The Genealogy Club of Sun City: The club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, in the Game (formerly Aerobics) Room of the Prairie Lodge. The speaker, Maureen Brady, will speak on the topic: FamilySearch.org Resources. FamilySearch.org is a free Web site for genealogy research. All Sun City residents are welcome to attend one meeting without joining. Dues are $15 for the year.

Join in "The Leader's Challenge." Prepare and print a short family history to include the following: minimum three linked generations; family group sheet for each generation; ancestry tree showing all three generations; photographs and/or stories. It will be due Nov. 10, just in time for it to be a family holiday present that may trigger other family members to share what they know. Polish American Club: At the March 16 meeting, village of Huntley Trustee Pam Fender will provide an update on what's happening in Huntley. She will also let club members know what the future holds for Huntley. In addition, Jeffrey Roberts will share some history about Casimir Pulaski, whose birthday was celebrated this month. With the Easter season coming soon, Roberts will discuss the customs of Poland for that holiday. His comments are always welcome. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at Meadow View Lodge. The Tiara Tea Society: You are invited to lunch at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at the Pinecrest Restaurant, 11220 Algonquin Road, Huntley. Lunch will be off the menu and you will receive separate checks. Selections range in price from $8 to $13 and include soups, sandwiches, wraps, full lunch, desserts and beverages. Neighborhood 11: Neighborhood 11 is having a breakfast buffet at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at Golden Corral Restaurant, 1591 S. Randall Road in Algonquin. Come join the fun at the Corral's buffet and celebrate spring. This is a great way to socialize and meet your neighbors. Cost of the buffet for seniors is $8.34, which includes a beverage. There are 74 items in the breakfast buffet including an omelet station. Payment will be made at the cashier when you arrive, but they need a head count. They have a private room for the group.
