Patchwork of history at Indian Trails Library

Indian Trails Public Library in Wheeling will mark its 50th anniversary this year with a variety of programs - and a new quilt.

Twenty-four library staff members and patrons have created the individual patches of the quilt, which incorporate historical photographs and other library themes such as the Indian Trails logo.

"We did this for our 25th anniversary," said Chris Gibson, library associate director of public communications, who is in charge of piecing the quilt together.

The two 25th anniversary quilts are hanging on a second floor wall.

The 50th anniversary quilt will be unveiled at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 29. It will hang in the front room of the library at 355 S. Schoenbeck Road. For details call (847) 279-2224.
