Driver charged in $407,000 armored trust heist
The driver of an armored truck and a second man face felony charges of conspiring to steal $407,000 from the vehicle while it was parked at a south suburban Chicago gas station.
Conspiracy to commit robbery charges were filed Thursday against 28-year-old Jason Jackson and 29-year-old John Robinson Jr. Both men are in custody.
In an affidavit FBI agent R. Brian Wentz says Jackson, who drove the truck, confessed to agreeing to rob the money with his longtime friend, Robinson. The truck was parked at a Speedway gas station in Hazel Crest.
The affidavit says Robinson also confessed.
Both men are scheduled for a bond hearing Friday before Magistrate Judge Geraldine Soat Brown.
