Samantha Arnold Lake ParkArnold rewrote the school record books while leading the 26-6 Lancers to conference and regional titles. The Michigan recruit scored a record 42 points vs. St. Charles East. She is the record holder for points in a season and career with 2,222. "She's meant so much to this program," coach Chris Fruehling said.

Nikki Bell BenetBenet enjoyed a 19-12 season and a regional title. Thank the consistency of this junior. Playing out of position at power forward, Bell averaged 12.2 points per game. She hit game-winning free throws in regional final. "Any key shot we had to take," coach Peter Paul said, "she was the one to take it."

Kelley Hendrick Naperville CentralA fierce competitor, this four-year varsity player going to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside willed the 20-12 Redhawks to a share of the DVC title. She averaged 16.1 points and 4.1 steals per game and is the third all-time leading scorer in school history. "She just loves to play," coach Andy Nussbaum said.

Whitney Holloway MontiniMontini's offense ran through this 5-foot-4 blur, and she took the 28-5 Broncos all the way to a 3A supersectional. Holloway averaged 12.2 points, 6.5 assists and 4.8 steals. "She was a scoring point guard as a freshman," coach Jason Nichols said, "and now she's a scoring point guard that sets people up."

Toni Kokenis Hinsdale CentralThe 2008-09 All-Area Captain, this junior did whatever it took for Red Devils. She averaged 17.9 points and 5.0 assists for the West Suburban Silver champions and sectional finalists. "I'm glad she's on my team," coach Morgan Kasperek said. "I wouldn't know how to defend her."

Jenn Lee Wheaton AcademyThe senior's value to the 28-2 conference and regional champs went beyond numbers. She did, though, average 12.4 points and 2.2 steals while making 42 percent of her 3-point attempts. "She just truly exemplified a leader for us," coach Beth Mitchell said. "An extension of me on the court in many ways."

Courtney Lindfors DriscollA dominant force for the 33-1 Class 2A champion. This 6-foot-4 junior averaged 15.2 points and 9.6 rebounds. She had 14 points and 9 rebounds in the championship and 15 points, 15 rebounds and 8 blocks in the supersectional. "She has grown by leaps and bounds in the last year," coach Steve McCuiston said.

Shannon McNeil Timothy ChristianA four-year varsity starter and emotional leader for the 17-11 sectional finalists. Strong to the rim and one of the area's best rebounding guards. McNeil averaged 9.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.0 steals. "She was all over the court for us," coach Ryan DeKoekkoek. "She covered our weaknesses in other areas."

Brooke Olson Wheaton NorthRecent tradition is that the Falcons' best defender wears No. 14. This senior took the badge of honor to heart. She took 18 charges and was a nuisance to any opponent's best player. She averaged 6.2 points and 1.8 steals for the DVC co-champs. "She set the tone for how we play defense," Falcons coach Dave Eaton said.

Courtney Owens YorkThe Dukes enjoyed a Cinderella ride to the regional title on senior's back. She scored 14 points in an upset of Hoffman Estates, had 18 points and 14 rebounds against Bartlett. For the year she averaged 16.2 points and 9.4 rebounds. "In the last 4-5 games we saw a glimpse of how she can play," coach Frank Kaminsky said.

Meghan Pipal Glenbard SouthThe "Energizer Bunny" for 18-12 regional champions, this senior guard averaged a team-high 9.7 points and area-best 5 steals, as well as 3.5 assists. She will play soccer at Olivet Nazarene. "This year she turned into a leader for us," coach Julie Fonda said. "She fulfilled every expectation I had of her."

Keiera Ray Waubonsie ValleyThe freshman burst on the scene with 24 points and 12 wins in a win over Naperville Central and didn't look back. She showed a nose for the ball, averaging team highs of 12.7 points, 8.96 rebounds and 3.33 steals for the 19-9 Warriors. "She's versatile," coach Kris Kalivas said, "especially for a freshman."

Kasey Reaber DriscollWith her ballhandling this sophomore point guard discouraged opponents of the 2A champs from pressing. Driscoll's best defender. She averaged 9.0 points and 4.6 assists and had 18 points in the supersectional. "She changes the complexion of what teams want to do against us," coach Steve McCuiston said.

Samantha Rubright FentonThe young Bison scratched out 13 wins behind this senior. She averaged 14.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game with 56 3-pointers. The second-leading scorer and rebounder in school history. All-State Academic. Rubright will play at Illinois Wesleyan. "She really stepped up as a quiet leader," coach Tim Anderson said.

Alison Seberger MontiniMontini coaches call her "Big Shot Al." Easy to see why. The junior committed to Illinois State made 81 3-pointers at a 38 percent clip while averaging 10.2 points for the Suburban Catholic co-champs. "A spot-up shooter is what she is," said coach Jason Nichols said, "and she does it pretty darn well."

Alexa Sharkey Wheaton AcademyFew players could turn defense into offense better than this junior. She led the team in points per game (15.5), rebounds (7.1) and steals (4.7). She led the Warriors to a 28-2 record and their first conference and regional titles in 10 years. "Her work ethic sets a great example for our younger players," coach Beth Mitchell said.

Jamie Stefely St. FrancisThe Spartans' 6-foot-1 senior was one of the most improved players in the area. She averaged 14.7 points and 6.8 rebounds and got better as the season wore on. She scored 25 points in a win over Latin and 31 in a win over St. Edward. "A very special player with excellent character on and off the court," coach Leslie Fay-Dehn said.

Kelsey Taylor Glenbard EastThe focused, hard-working third-year varsity player was catalyst for the 18-11 Rams. Taylor averaged 14.8 points and 3.9 rebounds and made a school-record 43 3-pointers. She also was one of the best free-throw shooters in the area at 82.2 percent. "She put in a lot of time," coach Nicole Miller said, "and elevated her game this season."

Abbey White Glenbard WestThe junior guard grew into a scoring role in her third season. She set the tone with 26 points in the season opener and averaged a team-high 12.3 points for the 18-11 Hilltoppers. "She always had a nice shot," coach Mike Hofland said, "and now she has the confidence to take it. We looked to her with the game on the line."

Madison Whitley Hinsdale CentralThe senior boasted a smooth shooting stroke and improved defense for the Red Devils. She shot 37 percent from 3-point range and 78 percent on free throws while averaging 10.5 points per game. "Our physical enforcer when we needed her to be," coach Morgan Kasperek said. "I wouldn't mess with her."
