What happens to stimulus money?
I just reviewed a listing of allotments contained in the new "stimulus" bill and it blew my mind! Who was (were) the authors, and how did they ever ascertain how much to allocate to each supposed "need?" It's like writing a blank check without even knowing who will disperse these huge funds or how. With the way our government controls its assets, I am very fearful of fraud and lack of control. We have never seen such a bloated budget without proven need for each one. We, the paying public, are supposed to blindly trust the Democrats answer to do what is right and expedient? This is too much change.
Michael Grabell and Christopher Weaver were two who did read through the 1,000-plus pages of the mammoth stimulus bill and listed each item with the price tag on it. And the picture they painted is ugly. Who is going to reassure us that the money will be spent prudently and without personal gain, and does each recipient have any guidelines to follow? Does each department have a designated goal, budget or timeline? Seems very open-ended. Giant gifts with no strings attached? And I didn't see anything in the package that had my name on it.
