'Change' takes on a new meaning
President Obama has promised change, and his appointments to high ranking positions in his administration certainly illustrate change. Bill Richardson, William Lynn III, Nancy Killefer, Tom Daschle and Hilda Solis had to change their minds about their nominations when their involvement in tax evasion and other shady deals were exposed. It has been suggested that one way to reduce the deficit is to expose Democrat tax cheats by nominating them for high positions in the Obama administration.
Another mind changer was Republican Sen. Judd Gregg, but his problem was over his principles and integrity. He changed his mind about being commerce secretary over "irresolvable conflicts" with Obama over the economic stimulus plan and the politicization of the 2010 census. As a fiscal conservative, he felt it would be difficult to serve in the wild-spending Obama administration Anyway, Obama promised change but so far it has been his appointees who have been changing their minds
