Da Vinci Academy students will check tire pressure

As a community service project during the week of March 2, Da Vinci Academy middle school students will be checking car tire pressure for families in the school.

The students have studied the safety and fuel-efficiency benefits of maintaining recommended tire pressure, so they will assist Da Vinci parents in keeping their cars' tires properly inflated.

As cars come into the parking lot for carpool, the students will use gauges to check whether each tire's recorded pressure matches the recommended level. If tires are underinflated, the students will use air compressors to raise the tire pressure to the recommended level. If the tires are overinflated, the students will alert the parents that the readings exceed the recommended pressure.

All Da Vinci middle school students participate in a Town Council program supervised by the middle school teachers. Three times each year, the Town Council performs student-led community service projects. The program is an excellent opportunity for students to lead and become better citizens.
