Fleetwood Mac making big return Friday

Don't forget, Fleetwood Mac finishes its two-night stay at the Allstate Arena Friday. Having seen them there before a few years ago, I can attest the solid rhythm section of John McVie and Mick Fleetwood still sets a firm foundation for arena rock, and Lindsey Buckingham still exploits it to the max with his guitar overlays, even if Stevie Nicks no longer has the voice - or the form - she once did.

Facts: Fleetwood Mac plays the Allstate Arena, 6920 N. Mannheim Rd., Rosemont, at 8 p.m. Friday. Tickets range from $49.50 to $149.50, available at (312) 559-1212 or ticketmaster.com.

About Faces

Ian McLagan, best known as keyboardist for the Faces, brings his Bump Band to FitzGerald's in a hastily arranged show Saturday announced only last week. Expect loose-limbed Americana music with a distinctly British twist. The Finnish Charts open, coming at Faces-style rock through a fondness for Paul Westerberg and the Replacements.

Facts: The Finnish Charts open for Ian McLagan & the Bump Band at 9 p.m. Saturday at FitzGerald's, 6615 W. Roosevelt Rd., Berwyn. Tickets are $15, available at (866) 468-3401 or ticketweb.com.

Dean & Britta & Andy

Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips split off from Luna to do their own mellowly romantic music a few years ago, and Saturday they come to the Museum of Contemporary Art to add atmospheric backing to silent movies from Andy Warhol's Factory days in the '60s. The first show is sold out, but a later show was added. And don't forget John Prine's former label mate Todd Snider, playing the Park West today.

Facts: Dean & Britta perform "13 Most Beautiful ... Songs From Andy Warhol's 'Screen Tests'" at 7:30 qand 10 p.m. Saturday at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago Ave., Chicago. Tickets are $25, available by calling (312) 397-4010 or visiting mcachicago.org. Jonny Burke opens for Todd Snider at 7:30 p.m. today at the Park West, 322 W. Armitage, Chicago. Tickets are $20, available at (800) 745-3000 or ticketmaster.com.
