Competition turns to compassion

A few weeks ago, I stood close to the end of the long visitation line for Jonathon McNeil at the United Methodist Church of Geneva. In line in front of me stood four young Batavia High School boys wearing their Batavia varsity jackets. Obviously, they "stood out" in line because of their bright red and yellow jackets.

What impressed and stood out in my mind, was that they took the time to show their sympathy to the McNeil family. This demonstrates maturity, respect and human compassion to others. Human love has no boundaries whether it be on the football field, basketball court, or across the Fox River.

Thank you, boys, and God bless all four of you.
