Man fatally stabbed in family fight
Chicago police say they are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 47-year-old man during a quarrel with his 78-year-old father at the family's home on the city's far South Side. Officer Laura Kubiak of the Police News Affairs office said the stabbing occurred Sunday morning after the son reportedly began attacking his father with a chair. Kubiak said officers believe the older man then grabbed a kitchen knife to defend himself and stabbed his son in the chest.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office identified the dead man early Monday as Maurice Bickhem.
The father was taken into custody for questioning but had not been charged as of late Sunday night.
