Elgin Public Museum hosts sleepover this weekend
Register now for "A Night at the Museum Sleepover"! Ever wonder what it would be like to spend a night in a museum? Children in second to sixth grade have the opportunity to discover the Elgin Public Museum in a new way from Friday, March 6 to Saturday, March 7.
Get close to the exhibits. Learn about animal adaptations. Dissect your own owl pellet to see what birds of prey eat to survive.
Children will look for owls and other animals, as well as explore the night sky, on a night hike in Lords Park. To cap it off, enjoy a movie and popcorn nuzzled up next to T-Rex.
Children will sleep on the floor and a snack will be provided at night and breakfast in the morning. The sleepover will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 9 a. m. It will be at the Elgin Public Museum, 225 Grand Blvd., in Lord Park on Elgin's east side. Cost is $30 per child or $25 per child for museum members. Call for group rates. Call the museum at (847) 741-6655 for information. Reservations required and space is limited.
