Don't blame Israel for defending itself

Why are the Israelis being blamed for their action in Gaza? When does a country that is being attacked not have the right to defend itself from these attacks? Since the Arabs have occupied the Gaza Strip there have been over 3,000 rocket attacks on Israel. The people of the Gaza elected Hamas as their leaders. Now they are seeing them at their true colors. It is the people who elected Hamas that are now suffering for their support of their government. Until the Gaza Strip realizes that Hamas stands for violence, I believe that humanitarian aid should not be provided to the region. The cost of violence is high both in life and in money. Perhaps Hamas should redirect its spending to provide the humanitarian aid that it requires.
