Celtics guard Pruitt arrested for DUI

LOS ANGELES -- Boston Celtics guard Gabe Pruitt has apologized after being arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of drunken driving.

The 22-year-old Pruitt said in a statement issued Thursday by the Celtics that he "used poor judgment" and is "really disappointed" in himself.

Los Angeles police Officer April Harding says Pruitt was pulled over in Hollywood shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday and later booked on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence.

Pruitt's statement said "I made a mistake and I have learned a valuable lesson."

The Celtics had lost 93-91 to the Los Angeles Clippers a few hours earlier. Pruitt is from the Los Angeles area and played college basketball for Southern California.
