Come clean on 'covert' construction

It has come to my attention that there is an effort underway to disturb the wetland and natural forest area between the Wellsmere Heights and Elmcrest subdivisions in Wauconda Township with possible new road connections.

This area includes an expensive taxpayer-funded rain garden.

This covert construction operation involves residents who will be directly impacted and were not informed of any plans previous to the construction onset. I believe the demolition of these areas began Feb. 13 by Village of Wauconda employees and or its contractors.

I respectfully and publicly request to view all permits, documents, engineering plans, traffic and safety studies, drainage, silt abatement plan, environmental impact report and restoration guarantee for this project under the Freedom of Information Act 5 IL CS140.

Furthermore I admonish all involved to halt construction immediately and meet at a round table to discuss the plan before any further environmental damage is perpetrated. Good government begins with communication and in this case all aspects of government has failed to meet the goal of communication with those citizens they represent.
