Teens turn Winnetka home into party house

Police in Winnetka say several teens turned an unoccupied home into a party house where they drank, smoked and made themselves comfortable for weeks.

Edrita Braun discovered the students in her home nearly two weeks ago.

Braun said she learned of what was happening in her home when she got a call from a mother asking about a party under way in Braun's home, where she hadn't lived since July.

Braun alerted police and headed for the home. There, she found a side door open and empty beer cans littering the house.

According to a lawyer for Braun, damage exceeds $10,000 and continues to grow as more ruined clothing and broken belongings are found.

Eight teenagers have been ticketed with underage drinking in connection with the incident.
