Get a piece of Jonas Bros. for charity

A Jonas Brothers T-shirt would have sufficed.

Instead, the folks at Holy Family Catholic Parish in Inverness got a donated Epiphone Les Paul electric guitar signed by heart throbs Kevin, Joe and Nick themselves.

Tweens have been gushing over pop phenoms' instrument, which is being raffled off to help produce an album of popular worship music played at Masses over the years.

The CD will be released in October to celebrate Holy Family's 25th anniversary.

"A hallmark of Holy Family is that we're alive in spirit, and music is the most tangible way of recognizing that," church Director of Music and Liturgy Colin Collette said.

The not-so-traditional Catholic church is known for its contemporary Christian rock. Despite the demand, it's been at least 15 years since Holy Family has put out a collection. The CD will feature tracks including "Yes Lord" and "The Power of Your Love" from more than 100 members of the adult and teen bands and choirs.

But between the sound engineers, studio time, editing, mixing and materials, production costs are creeping into the thousands.

Associate Director of Music Jeff Poindexter tapped his industry connection. His brother, Joe, is the international representative for Hollywood Records, the Jonas Brothers' label.

"We had no idea the generosity that was coming to us," Collette said.

He hopes enough money is raised so that the CD can be a gift to the parish, or at least offered for a minuscule fee.

Raffle tickets can be purchased for $20 each or six for $100 at holyfamilyparish.org. The winning ticket will be drawn after the 9 a.m. Mass on March 15.
