Abortion foes fight for the innocent
Barbara Muehlhausen (Fence Post, Jan. 22) is mistaken in her assumptions and accusations. She takes one example (anencephaly) and uses it to justify an extreme procedure, abortion, where the vast majority of the victims are normal and healthy.
She echoes the falsehood of "reproductive health care," an oxymoron at best, that results in the destruction of the innocent. How many potential scientists, doctors, singers, clergy and just plain good mothers and fathers have not been allowed to come into this troubled world?
From time to time the Daily Herald publishes photos/articles about demonstrations at abortion clinics. Most demonstrations, though, receive little if any exposure. Nevertheless, those demonstrators talk the talk and walk the walk. They give witness to speak up for the innocent. Religion has nothing to do with it. Common sense calls for the defense of the innocent. Wouldn't you defend the innocent?
